Our Founder

JULIANA SCHIRMER

As the founder of Connected Philanthropy, I am driven by a deep sense of purpose to empower nonprofits and help them achieve their goals. With over 25 years of experience in the field, I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact that these organizations can have on their communities and beyond.

At Connected Philanthropy, we believe that every nonprofit deserves the support and resources they need to make a real difference in the world. Our mission is to provide expert consulting services that help organizations build capacity, increase their impact, and achieve their goals.

Our Team

JAN HOLMES

A philanthropy professional, Jan has experience in major gifts, fundraising campaigns, individual giving programs, donor relations, cultivation events, institutional funding, prospect research, development communications and operations management. She is trained in the planned giving design and major gifts management cycle taught at The Fund Raising School at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Jan is also a Nonprofit Lifecycle Institute capacity building consultant, and she helps organizations identify the needs of their Lifecycle stage and develop a strong and sustainable funding model. In addition, she has a background in marketing and a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University. She has managed a wide range of communications projects and marketing specialists. She enjoys grant writing and earned the Grant Development and Proposal Writing Certificate from Arizona State University Lodestar Center’s Nonprofit Management Institute. Her primary areas of interest are the performing arts, environment, education and faith-based initiatives.

KAYLIN YOUNG

Kaylin Young is a dedicated researcher, grant writer, and grant manager with a passion for creating innovative programs in behavioral health and community health care. Kaylin graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s in psychology and is working to complete her master’s in research and experimental psychology with a focus on research design and project management. Kaylin has a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by individuals and communities struggling with mental health issues. Her expertise in program design and grant management has helped organizations secure funding and implement effective solutions to improve access to care and support for those in need. Kaylin’s commitment to making a difference through her work is evident in the impact she has had on the lives of many individuals and families. Kaylin is a skilled project manager with extensive experience in managing competing priorities and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
